Eagles JV Playing Tough Ball


To start the homecoming week at OHS the C and JV teams hosted St. Marys. The C-team lost the first set 9-25. The JV team lost the second set 17-25, won the third 25-22, and lost the fourth 13-25. The team struggled with serving missing several key serves. However, Sarah Devall served 17-18 with five aces.  Natalie Brodersen was 9 for 12 with two aces.  Natalie and Rahtaya Young led the team in digs with seven each.  McKenzie Adamson led the team in offense hitting .286 on the night.  She and Natalie each had three kills off assists from Sarah and Brandi Devall.  Amanda Pischel also played well at the net. Natalie and McKenzie each had a solo block.

On Thursday the team traveled to West Point to take on the Bluejays.  Four sets were played, two for C-team and two for the JV team.  Scores were 8-25, 6-25, 17-25 and 17-25.  Katrina De La O led the attack for the Eagles hitting 10 for 11 with four aces.  McKenzie Adamson added two more kills.  Katrina and Natalie Brodersen each had a block.  Natalie and Rahtaya Young led the team on defense with 10 and nine digs respectively. Bailee Dougherty had an additional seven digs.  As the team libero, Addie Schneider was 10 for 19 on serve receptions. Brandi Taylor served four for four for three points and Sarah Devall added four more.  Sarah also had four assists for the night.  

After the homecoming dance on Friday night the C-team traveled to Ord on Saturday morning for a triangular with Luthern High Northeast and Ord. The Eagles played in the JV division. Unfortunately they lost in straight sets to both teams.  Katrina De La O did a nice job passing the ball and helped Bailee Dougherty with the setting duties. Amanda Pischel and Lydia Sigler battled at the net.  Assisting these players were Vanessa Carrillo, Doreena Hopson and Odalys De La O. Libero for the team was Alex Strampher.
