The O'Neill Eagles gave Ainsworth a good 53-3 stomping last Friday evening in O'Neill.

The Ainsworth team was ill prepared to match the Eagles on the gridiron whether it was offensively or defensively.

The Eagles scored in many ways in this game, including through the air, on the ground, a punt return  and a blocked punt for a touchdown.  "Our team came out and took care of business and I was proud of our entire team's effort.  A lot of kids got the opportunity to play last week and we had some that really stepped up and made an impact. We are very excited to be in the position we are currently in, but this week will be by far our biggest test yet. We will travel to play a very tough, hard-nosed Valentine team that is coming off a tough loss to Ord. Valentine has turned into a bit of a rivalry for us and we are excited for the challenge. This game will definitely measure where we are at," said Coach Eichelberger.

The Eagles were led offensively by Ferdi Reicks with six carries for 50 yards and one touchdown, Michael Hedlund with six carries for 46 yards and one touchdown, Jose Lopez with five carries for 44 yards and David Fox with 12 carries for 43 yards and one touchdown.

Leading receivers were Derrick Hostert with three receptions for 64 yards and two touchdowns and Tad Fry with one reception for 24 yards. In the passing department Michael Hedlund had eight attempts with five completions for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
