Lincoln — Dean Gorgen, 77, of Lincoln, formerly of O'Neill, Inman and Page, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 in Lincoln. No service information was provided. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Dean Gorgen, born in O'Neill on Nov. 9, 1948, passed away on Dec. 1, 2025. Dean spent the last 25 years in Lincoln, his residence at the time of his passing. A smart and reliable individual, he had an illustrious career as an appraiser, retiring in 2017 as the respected Saline County Appraiser. A man of varied interests, Dean was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the Huskers on TV. Dean's journey began in O'Neill but took him to Inman, where he grew up, and later to Page High School where he graduated in 1966. Throughout his life, he held several positions that reflected his dedication and work ethic. He owned Dean's Package and Liquor Store in O'Neill for several years, and later brought his commitment to service at O'Neill Auto Supply. Dean is survived by his loving wife Luann Gorgen; two children Jeff (Kelli) Gorgen of San Diego, CA, and Chad Gorgen of Lincoln; four grandchildren Jack of Manhattan, NY, Grady of Omaha, Colin of Iowa City, Iowa and Haley (Andrew) Peiffer of Marion, Iowa; one great-grandson Rowan Thomas Peiffer; one brother Dana (Julie) Gorgen; and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Milo and Margie Gorgen, and one brother Dickie Gene Gorgen. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lincolnffc.com.
