The O'Neill City Council meets briefly for its monthly meeting on Monday, March 2, with councilman Tim Schneider absent. The council discussed the ordinance authorizing the issuance of Sewer Bond Anticipation notes to fund the upcoming work on the pits at the sewer facility. The council discussed the possibility of placing Bat Houses in Kearney, Ford, and the Kippure Park. Councilwoman Quana Wheeler said that the O'Neill High School Students would take care of the building of them and any maintenance. The mention of a dog park was also discussed, but the topic was tabled for later. Jake Carmen asked the council about resurfacing his parking lot at 114 N. 4th in the newspaper building lots. The council inquired about the location of the entrance and the number of parking spaces. The hotel was required to consult the council because the entrance would cut into existing parking spaces. The council approved the proposal. The council approved the agreement to swap the O'Neill Chamber of Commerce for the light and insurance the Chamber has paid for the O'Neill signs over the years. The Chamber will get free access a couple times a year for a few years. After approving the bills, the council recessed for the night.
