Charlie Thomas Flannery was born on July 1, 2010, in Omaha, to TJ and Rachel Flannery. He passed into the loving arms of Jesus on April 27, 2026.

Charlie was a remarkable young man whose life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter and unforgettable moments. At 15 years old he lived with a spirit far beyond his years- embracing each day with energy, kindness and joy that touched everyone around him. He was the kind of person that never met a stranger, a true best friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His loyalty, humor and easy-going nature made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. He took the role of brother seriously and was protector to Max and Olive.

Charlie had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed coon and deer hunting with his buddies. He went on his first pheasant hunting trip with his dad last fall and was proud to bag his first solo pheasant. He was very proud of his 65.3-pound Wahoo that he caught deep sea fishing off the Florida Coast last fall. Charlie had his dad's love for the skies and enjoyed flying and learning anything he could about planes.

He joined the ranch crew at Uncle Scott's last summer and learned many valuable lessons about hard work, mixed in with some fun and shenanigans with his cousins.

Charlie poured his heart into football, golf and wrestling. On the field, course and on the mat, he showed determination, grit and teamwork - qualities that reflected who he was in every part of life. He competed fiercely, but always with respect and sportsmanship.

Perhaps what people will remember most is his smile -  bright, genuine and impossible to forget. His dimples had a way of melting hearts and lifting spirits, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Though his time here was brief, the impact he made will endure in the memories of family, friends, teammates and community. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and always remembered for the joy he brought to his family and friends.

Charlie is survived by his parents TJ and Rachel Flannery of Atkinson; one sister Olive; one brother Max; one grandmother Hilda Flannery of Atkinson; aunts and uncles Scott and Sam Flannery of Mission, SD, Jeanne and Mike Laible of Atkinson and Beth Thompson of Indianapolis, IN; and six cousins Jacob and Mariah Flannery of Omaha, Emma and Trevor Hames of Lincoln, Cole Laible of Crookston and Nathan Flannery of Mission, SD.

He joins his grandparents Bill and Terry Thompson and Rich Flannery in heaven.
