Cards Destroy Newcastle 65-6

The St. Mary's Cards delivered another knock down punch against Newcastle last Friday afternoon with 65-6 win.

The Cardinals offense was unstoppable last Friday with Ty Eiler getting the game rolling with a 45 yard punt return to put the Cards up first on the board. Tait Sibbel ran in the next touchdown on a 41-yard play with Kyle Loecker adding the two point conversion. Kyle Loecker hit the end zone next on a 3-yard touchdown run and Matt Kelly got a safety to finish out the first quarter.

In the second quarter Kyle Loecker again made it into the end zone on a one yard conversion. Connor Connot got the next score on a fumble recovery and then Tait Sibbel finished out the half scoring for the Cards with a 13 yard touchdown run.

The third quarter saw Ty Eiler take a 74-yard kick off return into the end zone  followed by  Jared Tomjack with a  20-yard touchdown. The last score by the Cards was by Brant Shoemaker on a five yard touchdown run. Newcastles only touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 15 yard pass touchdown from Brenden Irwin to Kyle Mohr.

Leading the rushing was Tomjack with 58-yards. Top passers were Kyle Regan with 1/1 for three yards and top defensive player was Kyle Loecker with 11 tackles.
