St. Mary's Cards Crush Niobrara-Verdigre 30-16

The St. Mary's Cardinals did a good job in defeating a tough Niobrara-Verdigre opponent last Friday with a 30-16 win.

Cole Moon got the momentum going on a two yard touchdown run into the end zone followed by Jared Tomjack taking in the two point conversion to put the Cards up 8-0. Tomjack again hit the end zone in the first quarter on a 53 yard touchdown run to put the Cards up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter Kyle Regan threw to Ty Eiler for a 25 yard touchdown pass and Kyle Loecker ran in the two point conversion.

The Niobrara-Verdigre Cougars got on the board in the third quarter when the Cougars drove down the field and Brady Zimmerer ran in a one yard touchdown run. 

In the fourth quarter Kyle Loecker ran in a 54 yard touchdown run and Regan hit Ty Eiler for the two point conversion to put the Cards up 30-8. On the ensuing kick off Owen Pavelka ran 73 yards for a touchdown to finish off the scoring for the game.

Leading rushers in the game were Jared Tomjack with 138 yards and Kyle Loecker with 134 yards. Kyle Regan was nine for 23 and threw  for 91 yards. Top defensive player for the Cards was Kyle Loecker with 21 tackles.
