Cards Start 2-0 On The Road

Dec 10, 2025 (0)

Winter sports have begun, and the St. Mary's basketball boys clearly put in the work leading up to the season.

Last Thursday they traveled to Crofton and came away with their first season win. The beginning of the match was a slight fumble from the Cardinals, but they quickly took the advantage and ran with it. Some solid shooting and good defense allowed the Cards to take the top spot.

Ben Barlow had a great night with 23 points, five rebounds and three steals; Logan Brabec had 17 points, six rebounds and four steals; Lane Bybee had 14 points, two rebounds and one steal; James Eby had two points and one rebound; Eli Banks had four rebounds; Max Berg had three rebounds; Connor Banks had one rebound and one steal; and Xzavier Parks had one steal.

After a short break, the boys were right back at it, this time visiting Nebraska Christian.

The Cardinals wasted no time getting into this one, putting up 23 in the opening, while holding down the Eagles to just six. It was much the same story the rest of the game. The Cards gained the upper-hand early on and never looked back. They topped the match off with a 10-0 for one final statement.

Barlow again crushed it with 26 points, one rebound and two steals; Berg had nine points, seven rebounds and four steals; L. Brabec had nine points, six rebounds and two steals; Eby had eight points, six rebounds and four steals; Banks had three points and five rebounds; Parks had three points; John Mlnarik had two points and one rebound; and Memphis Brabec had one point, three rebounds and one steal.
