Last week was a special one for the St. Mary's Cardinals. They recently started NVC play, and a recent opponent was Stuart, who they had just decimated at the end of January.

Last Tuesday's game was more or less the same as their previous outing, with the Cards showing no mercy. The Broncos had a chance in the second, but it slipped by them when the Cards eked out the victory 15-14. From there, the Cards kept a steady pace ahead of their competition up to the final moments. With the victory, the boys reach 10 wins in a row on the board, with no signs of slowing down.

Ben Barlow took charge with 17 points, shooting three of seven three-pointers for 43% and four of six two-pointers for 67%, as well as one rebound and two steals; Eli Banks had 13 points and 11 rebounds; Gage Hedstrom had 11 points, four rebounds and one steal; James Eby had nine points and four rebounds; Lane Bybee had eight points, 12 rebounds and three steals; Logan Brabec had eight points, three rebounds and two steals; Brayden Krugman had four points and one rebound; Connor Banks had three points and one steal; Drake Berg had two points, one rebound and one steal; Max Berg had five rebounds; John Mlnarik had two rebounds; Memphis Brabec had one rebound; and Xzavier Parks had one steal.

Four days passed by in the blink of an eye, and the boys were ready for their next challenger, EPPJ.

Right out the gate the Cardinals showed they weren't playing around. They dropped the Wolfpack 17-10 in the opener. A stalemate in the second left both teams wanting more but the third would offer that chance. It would be the Cards who struck again to cement their victory unless they made a huge fumble. That's not the team's forte, however, and they kept pace up to the end.

Hedstrom dominated the court with 21 points, shooting one of four three-pointers for 25% and nine of 12 two-pointers for 75%, as well as three rebounds and two steals; Barlow had 18 points, four rebounds and two steals; Brabec had 11 points, six rebounds and three steals; Eby had 10 points and nine rebounds; Bybee had two points and seven rebounds; Mlnarik had one point and one rebound; Banks had one rebound and one steal; and Parks had one rebound.
