Does Your Back-To-School Checklist Include Vaccination?

From newborns to college, you can help protect your children from 16 serious diseases by getting them vaccinated. Make sure your kids get any needed vaccines before the back-to-school rush. 

A child's immunization record is needed to register them for school, child care, athletic teams and summer camps.  

Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership (CNCAP) can help families and individuals from birth through 18 years of age receive vaccinations to reduce their risk of contracting childhood illnesses and diseases. Vaccines for Polio, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Rubella, Measles, Mumps, Haemophilus Influenza Type B, pneumonia (Prevnar), Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) (Gardisil), Meningitis, Meningitis B, Rotavirus, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B are available. 

Those who qualify are children ages 0-18 years of age. Those who are Medicaid enrolled, Native American or Alaskan Native, uninsured-children with no health insurance or underinsured-children with health insurance which does not cover any immunizations.

A donation of $18 is requested for clients receiving one shot and $25 for two or more shots, although no one will be refused service.

CNCAP will offer immunization clinics from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 19, Sept. 5 and Oct. 3 at their office at 202 S. 10th Street in O'Neill.
