The O'Neill Eagle girls have had a lot on their plate recently, when last week they faced five opponents. It seems the pressure has gotten to them, as their performance has also seen a slight dip since the start of the season.

Their first game against Summerland went off without a hitch, though. The Eagles let the opponent gain the upper-hand early on, but clutched up and took the game for themselves; 3-1; 23-25, 25-16, 25-22 & 26-24.

Mariah Kallhoff was the MVP with 15 solo kills, one block, four digs and one set assist; Blakely Sudbeck right behind with 12 kills and five digs; Autumn Jackson had 11 kills and five digs; Bergyn Classen had six kills, three digs and one set assist; Mia Lindsay had three kills, one block and three digs; Hannah Hilker had one kill, one ace serve, 16 digs and 39 set assists; Madalynn Kellum had two ace serves and two digs; Hailey Fick had one ace serve, 11 digs and one set assist; Serena Chavez had 11 digs; and Raegan Kaufman had three digs.

Also a big congratulations to Hannah Hilker, who, during this game, achieved her new Set Assists career record!

Just a few days passed and the Eagles were back at it, this time pitted against a tough 18-6 Pierce team. The Bluejays left the Eagles in the dust from the start and never let them catch up. The girls were forced to face defeat 3-0; 25-11, 25-18 & 25-12.

Mariah Kallhoff led the match with nine kills, one ace serve and one block; Classen had six kills and one dig; Sudbeck had four kills, five digs and one set assist; Hilker had three kills, one ace serve, nine digs and 18 set assists; Jackson had three kills, one dig and three set assists; Lindsay had one kill, one block and one dig; Chavez had nine digs and two set assists; Fick had four digs; Kaufman had two digs and one set assist; and Kellum had two digs.

Another two days later and the girls competed against Douglas County West at the Wisner-Pilger Tournament. The Eagles managed an early head-start, but the Falcons answered back in the second stanza. Both teams were determined to take the end tie-breaker, but the Eagles came more prepared. They took the end, and with it, the game 2-1; 25-20, 21-25 & 25-16.

Classen killed it with 12 kills, one block and one dig; Kallhoff close behind with 11 kills, two ace serves and two digs; Sudbeck had six kills and five digs; Lindsay had four kills and one block; Jackson had three kills, one block and six digs; Hilker had one kill, two ace serves, one block, 14 digs and 33 set assists; Kellum had one ace serve; Chavez had seven digs and two set assists; Fick had six digs; and Kaufman had four digs.

In the Tournament's second match, the girls faced a strong 21-3 Norfolk Catholic team. In the opener, the Eagles fell short, but quickly clawed their way back to the top shortly after. When it came down to it however, the Knights had the upper-hand. They took the match 2-1; 25-15, 24-26 & 25-19.

Sudbeck took charge with 11 kills and four digs; Classen had nine kills, one block and one set assist; Kallhoff had seven kills and nine digs; Jackson had two kills, one block and one dig; Linday had two kills and one dig; Hilker had one kill, one block, nine digs and 28 set assists; Chavez had nine digs; Fick had five digs and one set assist; and Kellum had two digs.

With their defeat to Norfolk Catholic, the Eagles moved to face Wynot. This was a competitive match, with both teams being on almost even terms. But the Blue Devils were just one step ahead, and managed to overpower the Eagles and send them home 2-0; 27-25 & 25-21.

The Eagles finished the Tourney in 4th place with their defeat by Wayne.

Kallhoff again led with seven kills, two ace serves and six digs; Jackson had six digs and one ace serve; Sudbeck had six kills, one block and four digs; Lindsay had two kills, two blocks and one dig; Classen had two kills and one dig; Hilker had one kill, one ace serve, one block, four digs and 22 set assists; Fick had one ace serve and six digs; Kellum had one ace serve and one dig; Chavez had seven digs; and Kaufman had one dig.
