Riley Wakefield

The Cinch Timed Event Championship wrapped up Saturday night at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma and Riley Wakefield of O'Neill ended his rookie year in the event by finishing in 4th place overall and winning $10,000. Wakefield drew the attention of those in attendance with impressive rounds and was the leader in the average for 2 rounds.

In the first performance Thursday night Riley placed 4th with a total time of 65.4 seconds in the five events. Friday afternoon he finished in 4th again with a time of 56.1 seconds and was the leader in the average after the second round. He would place 5th in the Friday night performance with a time of 58.5 second and his three run total time kept him in the number one spot in the average.  In the 4th round a one leg catch in Team Roping and a broken barrier put him in 10th place in that round with a total time of 77.5. After the 4th round he was still sitting good at 2nd place in the average.  The final performance Saturday night Riley had some tough luck but still kept his cool and finished strong.  His partner in the Team Roping, when it was Riley's turn to heal, missed both loops on the heading side, thus giving Riley a time of 60 seconds. This is the maximum time they can get, or if you miss and can't finish you automatically get 60 seconds.   Riley finished the 5th round with a total time of 108.5 seconds placing 10th but still good enough to maintain 4th place in the Overall Average.

The 4th place finish paid $10,000.

Congratulations to Riley Wakefield on a great showing in his Rookie Season at the Cinch Timed Event Championship!
