Lady Eagles Struggle As They Lose Three Of Their Four Games

The O'Neill Eagles watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 3-1 loss to Guardian Angels Central Catholic/Dodge/Scribner-Snyder on Tuesday. The Bluejays took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Bluejay pitchers struck out four, while O'Neill Eagles sat down eight.

The Bluejays fired up the offense in the first inning. Tori Buss drove in two when Buss homered.

Adyson Luebbert was the winning pitcher for the Bluejays. The fireballer surrendered one run on two hits over seven innings, striking out four.

Ryanne Pistulka took the loss for the Eagles. Pistulka lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out eight.

Ava Chohon and Autumn Emme each collected one hit to lead the Eagles.

Shelby Perchal led the Bluejays with three hits in three at bats.

Then the O'Neill Eagles weathered a scare by Highway 91 in the third inning where O'Neill coughed up five runs, but they still won 13-5 on Thursday. 

The big inning for Highway 91 came thanks to singles by Jordynn Ratzlaff and Amaiya Ross and a double by Nessa Krupka.

O'Neill got on the board in the first inning. They scored one run when Emma Smith singled.

The Eagles scored four runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Brooklynn Cahoy, Mariana Montes, and Emma Wrede and a walk by Ava Chohon.

Smith was the winning pitcher for O'Neill. The Eagle surrendered five runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out seven.

Ratzlaff took the loss for Highway 91. The bulldog surrendered 13 runs on 15 hits over five and a third innings, striking out two.

O'Neill had 15 hits in the game. Smith, Harley Cahoy, Montes, Loretta Scofield and Autumn Emme all managed multiple hits for the Eagles team. Cahoy and Smith each managed three hits to lead the Eagles.

Highway 91 collected seven hits. Cassandra Rayback and Krupka each racked up multiple hits for Highway 91.

Saturday was a long day for the O'Neill Eagles, falling to Central City 6-0.

A double by Emma Smith in the first inning was a positive for O'Neill.

Payton Burbach took the win for Central City. The ace surrendered zero runs on one hit over six innings, striking out 12.

Smith took the loss for the Eagles. The Eagle allowed four hits and six runs over five and a third innings, striking out five.

Smith went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead the Eagles in hits. O'Neill didn't commit a single error in the field. Mariana Montes had the most chances in the field with six.

Then the O'Neill Eagles watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-1 loss to Lakeview on Saturday. Lakeview scored on a fielder's choice by C Bentz, a walk by Delancy, a walk by Finecy, and a fielder's choice in the first inning.

The Eagles lost despite out-hitting Lakeview five to four.

In the first inning, Lakeview got their offense started when Ryanne Pistulka induced Bentz to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Allen earned the victory on the rubber for Lakeview. The bulldog went three innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out seven and walking zero.

Pistulka took the loss for the Eagles. The hurler went three innings, allowing 10 runs on four hits and striking out three.

Harley Cahoy, Loretta Scofield, Brooklynn Cahoy, Mariana Montes, and Elle Hoffman each collected one hit to lead O'Neill.
