Elida D. Svatos

Lynch — Elida Darleen Svatos, 63, of Lynch, died Friday, June 10, 2022 at Mount Camel Nursing Home Keens Memorial in Kearney.

Visitation was held Monday, June 20, 2022 at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Spencer.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at United Methodist Church in Lynch. Jeff Hart officiated.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Elida, daughter of Carl Raastad and Dorthy Posten-Raastad, was born on Oct. 7, 1958, in Mullen. Throughout her childhood, she attended school in North Platte, Herndon, KS, Junction City, KS and Lincoln. 

Elida married Steve Holen in Overton. Together they had one daughter Korena Nolan. 

In 1993, they moved to Lynch. Elida worked in the Lynch Public School as a cook for many years. 

She married Kenny Svatos on July 18, 1997. They made their home on the Svatos farm, where she enjoyed spending time with Kenny working in the field and helping with the animals.

Elida enjoyed bowling, playing cards, board games and socializing with friends and family. 

Over the years, she worked constructions jobs, but always returned to the food service industry until her health forced her to retire from the kitchen at the Lynch Hospital. 

Her greatest joys were her three grandchildren Nadalee, Gunner and Barrett. She was always giving them treats and enjoyed attending their activities. She passed on her love of horses to her granddaughter Nadalee. 

Elida is survived by her husband Kenny of Lynch; one daughter Korena (Matthew) Nolan; three grandchildren Nadalee, Gunner and Barrett of Kearney; one brother Carl (Bonnie) Raastad of Lincoln; one sister Wanda Chessmore of Callaway; her mother-in-law Carol Svatos of Lynch; one sister-in-law Renea (David) Sexton of Omaha; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father Carl Raastad, mother Dorthy Chambers, one brother Donnie Raastad, two sisters Charlene Davidson and JoAnn Herron and one brother-in-law Cody Svatos.
