The Stuart Lady Broncos volleyball team swept their match with Ainsworth last Thursday, Aug. 29 winning in three sets. The Broncos fell to Twin Loup though going down in four sets.
Leading the Lady Broncos against Ainsworth were Lexi Schroder with eight kills, 14 digs, two aces and six points; Reaghan Engel seven kills, 14 digs and one ace; Candence Kramer seven kills and two aces; Lainey Paxton four kills and one ace; and Madison Stracke with one ace Sydney Estill had 26 set assists.
In the game against Twin Loup Engel led the Broncos with 14 kills, 22 digs and one ace; Schroder 10 kills, 18 digs, two aces, nine points; Kramer five kills and five aces and Estill had 26 set assists.
The Stuart volleyball season started their opening night splitting games. The Broncos met up with Ainsworth for the first game and won in three straight sets. Good serving kept Ainsworth scrambling but inconsistency in the Broncos passing and defense kept games close. The second game of the night against Twin Loup the girls came out flat but led in the first and fourth sets but not staying aggressive hurt the girls late and gave Twin Loup to attack the ball which led them to come out on top. The girls
played well against Twin Loup in the third set and won 25 to 9. The junior varsity came up short against Ainsworth splitting with them in the first two sets but coming up short in the the last one losing 14 to 16. The junior varsity girls than traveled to Verdigre on Friday, Aug. 29 and played the Niobrara-Verdigre Cougars and played three sets against them and won all three.
In JV action the Lady Bronocs fell 16-14 against Ainsworth and Won over Niobrara-Verdigre 25-16.
Leading the Broncos against Ainsowrth were Emma Alder with two aces and 11 points; and Grace Alder 11 points.
