On Tuesday, Feb. 9 the Eagles hosted the Plainview Pirates. The Eagles took control early in the game and never looked back.
In the first quarter the Eagles tacked up 25 points and held the Pirates to single digits, only allowing eight points. Second quarter continued much the same way as the Eagles added 16 more points to their tally and again held the Pirates to single digits with nine points. At the half, the Eagles led 41-17.
The third quarter continued the trend as the Eagles again had 19 points to add to their side of the scoreboard, while the Pirates only managed a mere four additional points. The fourth quarter the Pirates finally hit double digits, when they got 11 points and the Eagles only had nine, but the damage had already been done. At the buzzer, the Eagles celebrated a 69-32 victory.
Leading scorers for the Eagles were Sophomore Landon Classen with 19 points, making two of his five three-point shots, shooting 100 percent from both the floor and the charity stripe, getting six rebounds and one steal; Junior Keaton Wattier with 16 points, also shooting 100 percent from both the floor and the free throw line and getting five rebounds; Freshman Drew Morrow 12 points, hitting 100 percent from the floor, with four rebounds and two steals; Senior Matthew Pardun six points and three rebounds; Senior Parker Heiss five points, one rebound and one steal: Senior Keegan Moore five points and two steals; Junior Sean Coventry four points, three rebounds and two steals; and Freshman Colton Osborne two points and two rebounds.

The Eagles were supposed to travel to Ord on Friday, Feb. 12, but the games were cancelled due to the extremely cold temperatures.
The Eagles will host Battle Creek on Friday, Feb. 19.
