The O'Neill Eagles went one and one last week winning over the Winnebago Indians 69-47 and then falling to the Boone Central Cardinals 73-56.
The Eagles jumped out to a 12 point lead in the first quarter against the Indians but Winnebago tried to come back in the second getting back only three and keep their momentum going into the third out scoring the Eagles by five and shortening the Eagles lead to only four points 45-41.
The Eagle offense crushed the Indians in the fourth putting up 18 unanswered points to seal the win for O'Neill.
Landon Classen had a huge game putting up 32 points, hitting five of eight three pointers and five of seven in the two point range as well as seven of 10 free throws, Classen also had four rebounds and four steals; Parker Heiss 11 points, three rebounds and three steals; Keaton Wattier eight points and 13 rebounds; Peyton Mathews seven points, three rebounds and two steals; Keegan Moore seven points and four rebounds; Karter Otte two points; and Kyler Dean two points and two rebounds.
On Friday the Eagles faced a buzz saw in the Boone Central Cardinals. The Eagles trailed from the get go as the Cardinals put up 41 points in the first half and the Eagles managed 22.
The Eagles came out of the half with determination and out scored Albion by 10 in the third but the Cardinal defense stepped it up in the fourth and kept the Eagles at bay holding them to 12 while they put up 19 points for the win.
Classen led the Eagles with 17 points, two rebounds and two steals; Moore 14 points and three rebounds; Wattier 10 points, seven rebounds and two rebounds; Drew Morrow six points, one rebound and three steals; Mathews five points, four rebounds and two steals; Dean four points and five rebounds.
