 The O’Neill Eagles hosted their own invitational on Thursday, Sept. 29 at the O'Neill Golf Course. The Eagles placed third in both the girls and boys varsity races. 

Medalling for the Eagles were Brady Thompson placing sixth and Taya Rainforth placing 11. 

Competing for the boy's varsity team were: Ty Rainforth 18th, Oscar Lopez 20th, Kullen Cartella 31st and Berren Strope 34th. 

The girls varsity team were Faith Williamson 22nd, Yoselin Cayax 26th, Alexa Shald 27th, Ally Sedlacek 28th, and Alyssa Gdanitz 31st. 

The O’Neill JV Boy’s Team won the team division with 16 points. Medalling in the junior varsity division were Blake Parks second, Lio Dominguez fourth and Joe Yates seventh. The following runners placed: Enrique Sanchez 12th, Jesus Romero 14th, Kyler Dean 15th, Lukas Dougherty 16th, William Grosch 17th, Naimjov Ghafurov 18th, Tyler Diediker 20th, Carter Hickey 24th and Jusitn Beeks 25th.

“Right now we are seeing some improvements but we need to run smarter at the start of the race. Once we get this accomplished we will see a lot of improvement,” said Coach Cole Hilker.

In the junior high division the girls team placed fourth and boy’s team second. Medalling were Ashley Dickau sixth and Annie Corkle 15th. 

In the boy’s division Drew Morrow placed runner-up, Elijah Kopecky ninth and Peyton Yates 10th. 

The rest of the competitors in the girl’s race were: Loretta Scofield 22nd, Annabelle Barlow 27th, Minlu Liu 28th, Emma Sedlacek 34th, Nahomi Sunum 36th, Kendall Parks 38th, Zuri Moore 40th, Hope Wilson 45th, Chelsi Janzing 47th, Sydney Birkel 50th, Jace Gregory 54th, Aliyha Anderson 55th and Kanzeis Fonseca 56th. 

In the boy’s race it was Brayden Hamm 24th, Chance Kleinberg 25th, Brent Hamm 26th, Ashton Burival 31st, Kyle Stearns 37th, Gus Laible 39th, Reese Grosch 40th, Caleb Laursen 50th, Michael Foutch 53rd, Kaedyn McKenny 55th and Connor Wallwey 57th.
