The St. Mary's Cardinals took their game on the road last Friday traveling to Ewing and coming back with a 28 point win over the Summerland Bobcats.
Tate Thompson struck first for the Cardinals on a three yard touchdown run and then Aidan Hedstrom threw to Thompson for the conversion to put the Cards up 8-0. Trevor Thomson got the Bobcats on the board with a 11 yard touchdown run. Hedstrom ran in a 25 yard touchdown and hit Thompson again for two.
The second quarter saw the Cardinal air game take charge with Hedstrom hitting Thompson on a 10 yard touchdown pass and Issac Everitt on a 14 yard touchdown pass.
The Cardinals led 28-8 at the half.
The third quarter was barren for both squads but in the fourth Hedstrom ran in a 2 yard touchdown run and Connor Semin had a 50 yard interception for a touchdown to finish out the night for St. Mar's. Thomson managed to get the Bobcats on the board with a 16 yard touchdown run.
The Cardinals ran 65 plays for 15 first downs and had four penalties for 45 yards. Summerland ran 52 plays for 14 first downs and had seven penalties for 50 yards.
Grant Winkelbauer led the Cardinals with 19 carries for 79 yards followed by Hedstrom with 14 yards for 77 yards and two touchdowns; Thompson six carries for 23 yards and one touchdown; Issac Everitt two carries for 11 yards and Wyatt Scofield three carries for 11 yards.
Leading the receivers were Semin two catches for 48 yards; Gabe Pribil two catches for 22 yards; Thompson three catches for 20 yards and one touchdown and Issac Everitt one catch for 14 yards and one touchdown.
Leading the Cardinal defense was Winkelbauer and Adam Everitt with 11 tackles each; Isaiah Wiese 10 tackles; Thomson seven tackles; Hedstrom and Semin six tackles each; Gabe Pribil, Dalton Alder three tackles each; Scofield, Charles Barlow and Issac Everitt one tackle each.
