Kearney — Vivian Muhs, 78, of Kearney died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. 

Memorials are suggested to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. 

O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services of Kearney is in charge of the arrangements.

Vivian was born May 5, 1941, to William and Lillian (Coolidge) Ragland in Neligh. She attended Page High School, graduating in 1959. 

On June 7, 1964, she was united in marriage to John Howard Recroft. John passed away in September 1973. She then married Mylon Muhs on Aug. 2, 1975. Mylon passed away in 1998. 

Vivian worked for Antelope Memorial Hospital and Contois Motor Company, both in Neligh, and was an Avon representative for Avon Cosmetics from 1975–2018. Vivian moved to Kearney in 2015 to be closer to family.

Vivian is survived by two sons Sean (Elizabeth Only) Recroft of Gloucester, MA and Jason Recroft of Kearney; four grandchildren John Recroft of Gloucester, MA, and Jaxson, Jazmin and Jillian Recroft, all of Kearney; one brother Royvan (Karma) Ragland of Red Cloud; two stepchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands John Recroft and Mylon Muhs; one sister Junita Miller; and one stepdaughter.
