Omaha — Ronald "Ron" L. McClellan, 83, of Omaha died Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at his home.
A vigil service was held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the West Center Chapel in Omaha.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Omaha. Rev. Daniel Soltys officiated.
Gift bearers and pallbearers were Ryan McClellan, Megan Nekola, Connor McClellan, Cameryn McClellan, McKensie McClellan, Madison McClellan, Chance McClellan, Macy McClellan and Sally McClellan.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob McAlexander and John Anderson.
Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Omaha with military rites.
Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.
Heafey - Hoffmann- Dworak - & - Cutler Mortuaries in Omaha were in charge of the arrangements.
Ronald was born on May 22, 1936 to Don and Fern McClellan in O'Neill. Ron grew up in O'Neill where he attended school.
In November 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in England until he was discharged in 1956.
Ron married Marybelle O'Connor, a registered nurse from Emmet.
They moved to Omaha where Ron attended Omaha Barber College. He was the owner of Karen and Wentworth Barber Shops.
From 1972 to 1983 Ron was the owner of Millard Dairy Queen. He then owned the Candlelight Lounge from 1984 to 2014.
In June of 1999, Ron was a liver transplant recipient from a life-long friend of the family, which extended his life another 20 years.
He had a tremendous love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting, most of all, deer hunting.
Ron is survived by his wife Marybelle of 62 years; one daughter Michelle McClellan (Kris Banning); three sons Mark (Amy) McClellan, Matt (Kebra) McClellan and Mike (Anne) McClellan; one daughter-in-law Kristi McClellan; nine grandchildren Ryan McClellan, Megan (Jason) Nekola, Connor McClellan, Cameryn McClellan, McKensie McClellan, Madison McClellan, Chance McClellan, Macy McClellan and Sally McClellan; one great-grandson Roan McClellan; one sister Sharleen (Bob) Teal of Carter Lake, Iowa; and one sister-in-law Eunice McClellan and family of O'Neill.
He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Fern McClellan, one brother Bob McClellan and one sister Norma Lindberg, all of O'Neill.
