Norma J. Strong, 76, of O'Neill died Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Arbor Care Center in O'Neill.

Visitation was held Friday, June 26, 2020 at Faith Community Church in O'Neill. Social distancing practices were followed.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 26, 2020 at the church. Pastor Paul Harder officiated.

Burial was in the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill.

Memorials may be made to Faith Community Church in O'Neill.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements. 

Norma J. Strong was born on June 9, 1944 to Charles and Gladys (Fiscus) Kotrous in Plainview. Norma graduated in 1962 from O’Neill High School in O’Neill. 

She married Earl H. Strong Jr. on June 17, 1962 at the United Methodist Church in O’Neill. Four children were born to this union Debra, Brenda, Steven and Kevin. 

Norma worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone; worked as a clerk at Safeway Grocery Store; worked for 14 years in the housekeeping and laundry departments at St. Anthony’s Hospital; was self-employed doing cleaning; and worked as a front desk clerk at Golden Hotel before retiring.

She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed working with Earl in the hayfield and enjoyed sewing for her children, always making a new outfit for the girls each year for the first day of school. Norma was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family events. 

Norma was a member of Faith Community Church in O’Neill. 

She had a good sense of humor which showed as she smiled and joked with the staff at Arbor Care Center in O’Neill, where she became a resident in September of 2018.

Norma is survived by her husband of 58 years Earl; four children Debra (Dale) Waterman of O’Neill, Brenda (Bob) Milander of Pierce, Steven (Julia) Strong of Lincoln and Kevin (Angie) Strong of O’Neill; 10 grandchildren Jerod (Alicia) Waterman, Daniel Waterman, Lachel (Aaron) Jung, Casey (Ashley) Milander, Grant Strong, Mimi Strong, McCoy Strong, Jakeb Larson, Lukes Strong and Sawyer Strong; seven great-grandchildren Peyton, Hunter, Raylan, Isla, Spencer, Hudson and Lyle; one sister Marilyn (Ray) Lampman of Axtell; one brother Gordon (Joyce) Kotrous of Pierce; and numerous other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.
