Menna Naldera Derickson, 94, of O'Neill died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. Fr. Randy Goeke officiated.
Burial was in the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill.
Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.
Menna was born on Jan. 13, 1924 in the village of Laugharne, South Wales, Great Britain.
She joined the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes referred to as NAAFI, an organization created by the British government to run recreational institutions needed by the armed forces.
Menna met Albert Derickson during World War II in South Wales, Great Britain. They were married in the Church of England on Aug. 21, 1945. Al was honorably discharged in November 1945, but Menna didn’t get to join him in the U. S. until March 1946. They made their home on a farm in Holt County. To this union two children were born Greg and Pam.
The couple retired and moved to O’Neill in 1976.
Menna is survived by one daughter Pam (Cliff) Kathol of Lenexa, KS; two grandchildren Kim (Justin) Robbins of Lenexa,KS and their children Caden, Addison and Brooklyn and Jay Kathol of Council Bluffs, Iowa and his children Alivia, Preston, Beau and Eden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Al in 2003 and one son Greg in 1990.
