Julia Lee "Katheryn" Barnes, 75, formerly of O'Neill died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at a later date due to the pandemic.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements.

Katheryn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a dedicated homemaker and devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren. 

She always had a heart of gold with a willingness to help those less fortunate, even when it meant she did without. 

She was a consummate storyteller and loved to spend as much time as possible on the phone conversing with all her friends and family, whom she loved dearly. 

She will be missed by her many friends and family.

Katheryn is survived by one brother Georgie Ferris of Atkinson; one son Norman F. Barnes Jr. of Baird; one daughter Verdeen I. Barnes of Mesa, AZ; one daughter-in-law Rebecca Kihnee Barnes of Baird; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a horde of nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Frances Barnes Sr., one daughter Eunice Elaine Barnes, her mother Maryann Ferris (Clark), her father Edward Ferris, three brothers, three sisters, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
