Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019 at the Inman Cemetery in Inman.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Jane was born on Oct. 25, 1957 to Boyd and Clara Hopkins in Columbus. She attended District 3r country school near Bellwood  and graduated from David City High School in 1976.

She married Joseph “Bill” Kiser on May 26, 1983 in Columbus. To this union two daughters were born Jacque and Kayla.

They lived in Columbus for 20 years where Jane worked for Becton Dickinson.  In 2001, the family moved back to the Kiser Ranch south of Inman and she worked for Elkhorn River Farms.

She was a very dedicated mother and spent many hours helping her girls with 4-H projects and traveling to shows. She would make her home place feel like a park and loved playing and having fun with her grandchildren.

Jane had a deep love of animals. She was an avid horse rider as she grew up riding and training horses. You could always find Jane barefoot around the house. She kept busy gardening, cooking and hunting for mushrooms and asparagus.

She was very blunt and people always knew where you stood with her. She was tough yet loving and was known for her smile that could light up a room.

Jane is survived by her husband of 36 years Joseph “Bill” Kiser of Inman; two daughters Jacque (Michael) Murray of Inman and Kayla Kiser of O’Neill; one grandchild Annaleen Kiser; two stepgrandchildren Lane and Cabela Murray; three brothers Jess (Brenda) Hopkins of Fort Morgan, CO, Jeffry Hopkins of Columbus and Jake (Jenny) Hopkins of Bellwood; one sister Jill (Paul) Mohr of Creston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother James Hopkins.
