Atkinson — Ida Agnes Marinello, 98, of Atkinson died Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Parkside Manor in Stuart.

Visitation was held Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson with a rosary.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 3, 2019 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Atkinson. Fr. James Weeder officiated. Music was provided by organist Terri Vrooman and soloist Bonnie Krysl.

Pallbearers were Pat Kennedy, Tom Frickel, Dick Frickel, Roger Frickel, Rod Schmuecker and Dan Kramer.

Burial was in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Atkinson.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Ida was born on Jan. 14, 1921 to John and Eleanor C. (Schmuecker) Vinzenz. She was their only child. 

She was very proud of her parent’s farm and their animals and loved the family dog.  

Ida was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  

After college she became a telephone operator in Milwaukee, WI where she met her husband Angelo Marinello. They were married June 4, 1949 at Holy Ghost Church in Milwaukee, WI.

In 1949 Ida's parents moved to Atkinson from the family farm 7 ½ miles west of Atkinson, because of her mother’s health. Ida and Angelo moved to Atkinson to help care for her mother who died four months later on Aug. 20, 1950. 

She and Angelo had no children of their own and continued to live at her parent’s house after her father passed away on June 6, 1973.  Angelo passed away on March 15, 1978 at West Holt Memorial Hospital in Atkinson.

Ida enjoyed reading, painting landscapes, her flowers and helping the Altar Society with their pillow cleaning and some other projects.

Ida is survived by her cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Angelo and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
