Dorothy Lee Foree, 92, of O'Neill died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at Arbor Care Center in O'Neill.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy was born on May 10, 1928 to Vernon and Doris (Sewell) Campbell in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Kansas City East High School in 1945. 

After graduation, Dorothy worked for the Santa Fe Railroad Shops as a bookkeeper. 

Dorothy married Charles “Russ” Foree on Dec. 7, 1946 in Topeka, KS. To this union, six children were born Steven, Diane, Patricia, Terence, Curt and Christopher. The family later moved to La Junta, CO where Russ was working with his family. 

The couple later moved to O’Neill and ran Foree Tire for over 50 years. 

Dorothy was an avid reader. She enjoyed crocheting, interior decorating, giving thoughtful gifts and was an excellent cook. Dorothy was known for her well-kept landscaping and beautiful flower gardens. 

She was a member of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church in O’Neill. 

Dorothy is survived by her six children Steven (Jean) Foree, Diane (Kenneth) Heiser, Patricia (Dave Burleson) Foree, Terence (Karen Davis) Foree, Curt Foree and Christopher (Christen) Foree; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russ Foree in 2020, one grandson Jeremy Wyatt Foree and one sister Betty Jean Mayfield.
