Ericson — Arthur "Art" Leo Genereux, 40, of Erickson died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 in Greeley County.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at the at the Wheeler Central High School Gymnasium in Bartlett
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at the school gymnasium. Pastor Duane Waddle will officiate. For the health and safety of others, social distancing and face masks are required.
Burial will be in the Bartlett Cemetery in Bartlett.

Arthur was born Oct. 3, 1980, at Chadron to Arthur and Karen (Boelter) Genereux. He lived at rural Hay Springs before moving to Ashland in 1984. At the age of six the family moved to an acreage by Memphis. Art attended Mead Public School through the fourth grade and in July of 1991, the family moved to Bartlett. He graduated from Wheeler Central High School in 1999.
He worked on the family ranch near Bartlett for his grandparents and later attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln where he received his diploma in small engine repair in 2004.
Art worked at Harley Davidson Dealerships in Grand Island and Rapid City, SD.
He returned to Nebraska and worked for Pillen’s; and local farmers and ranchers. Most recently he was working for Dobias Excavating; and the family ranch. He also enjoyed working his own cattle herd.
On Oct. 1, 2011, Art was united in marriage to Tina Tamayo at Ord. The couple and their two children, Hailey, age 16 and Trenton, age 11 made their home in Ericson.
Art enjoyed the outdoors; ranching, camping and going to the lake. He was very social, spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed attending the kid’s activities.
Art is survived by his wife Tina; and their two children Hailey and Trenton, all of Ericson; his parents Arthur and Karen Genereux of Bartlett; three sisters Christi (Tim) Larby and Kim (Craig) Dobias, all of Atkinson and Ellie (Rob) Ita of Ericson; one brother Louis Genereux of Bartlett; his father-in-law Armando Tamayo of North Loup; his mother-in-law Nancy Anderson of St. Paul; six sisters- and brothers-in-law Jennifer (Craig) Critel of Burwell, Jared (April) Rice of St. Paul, Cathy (Chris) Ford, Shaina (Josh) Jensen and Armando Tamayo, all of North Loup, and Kayla (Tyler) Melnick of Ord; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Louis and Mary Genereux and Boyd and Ella Boelter, one uncle Bob Boelter and one cousin Michael Dugan.
