The O'Neill Simonson American Legion Post 93 will host a Veteran's Day program at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the St. Mary's High School gymnasium.
St. Mary's High School Principal Cody Havranek will present the welcome. Members of the American Legion Post 93 will present the colors and POW-MIA flag.
O'Neill High School Band, under the direction of Chad Dean, will play "The Star-Spangled Banner" and other musical pieces throughout the program.
Betsy Crumly of St. Mary's Catholic High School will give a speech on the history of Veteran's Day.
This year's speaker is Ken Stenka, the Holt County Veterans Service officer and Gulf War Veteran. Following his speech, a Vietnam Commemorative Pinning of Vietnam Veterans will be held. Stenka will help present the pins.
Quilts of Valor Presentation will be made by Carmen Lechtenberg.
A history of "TAPS" will be given by Vera Butterfield and will be played by Katelynn Ogden and Christopher Laursen.
The Honor Guard will retire the colors and POW-MIA flag.
