LINCOLN — Enjoy a free, family-friendly learning event from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, at O’Neill Elementary School, 1700 N. Fourth St., during a “Sesame Street” 50th Anniversary Hometown Celebration presented by NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations.
Super Grover 2.0 from the PBS KIDS “Sesame Street” series will greet children, families and caregivers at the O’Neill event and be available for photographs. A free meal will be provided.
Families will also experience a variety of activity stations that represent new Sesame Street in Communities digital resources that are available in English and Spanish. The videos, printables and online activities feature friendly, furry Muppets who help parents playfully and meaningfully engage with their children during everyday moments.
Sesame Street in Communities is committed to helping kids everywhere grow smarter, stronger and kinder. NET was recently awarded a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting that will fund the free, family learning event.
Sesame Street in Communities builds on the almost 50-year commitment to caring for the developmental, physical and emotional needs of children. Researched and tested with families, the resources are proven to make a measurable difference for kids and make the job of being a parent a little easier.
