The 35th Annual Summerfest Rodeo was held last Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20 at Carney Park in O’Neill.

“Temperatures on Friday were over 100 degrees which hampered attendance at the annual event,” said Chamber President Dave Laursen. "It was a hot one and those temperatures affect everyone right down to the performance of the stock.

“We were blessed with a good night on Saturday with temperatures only reaching about 70 degrees at rodeo time and the attendance showed it with most of the seats being taken. It is a hit and miss on temperature for this event but it is July so we just have to deal with it and be thankful,” Laursen said.
