St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Amelia

A special mass will be hosted June 23 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Amelia. 

AMELIA — St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Amelia will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary on Sunday, June 23. Mass will be held at 3 p.m.  

A social hour will be hosted at Chambers Community Center at 4:30 p.m. with dinner being served at 5:30 p.m. 

Tickets for the dinner are $10 and can be purchased online by visiting and then clicking on the tab for St. Joseph's. A box will appear for online payment. Those wishing to attend also may call Vicki Tomjack at 402-336-8535 or St. Patrick's Parish Center at 402-336-1602.  

Archbishop George Lucas from Omaha will be on hand to celebrate the mass.  

There is limited parking at the church. A shuttle bus will be available at Chambers Community Center for those wishing to attend.

"We really encourage everyone to use the shuttle services," said Michele Brase.

T-shirts and memorabilia will be for sale at the community center that day.  

"A memory book also is being put together that can be ordered the day of the celebration," Brase said.
