Michael Sholes

Strope & Gotschall, PC, LLO, in O’Neill is pleased to welcome Michael L. Sholes as an associate attorney beginning Sept. 8.

Originally from O’Neill, Michael graduated from Ainsworth High School in 2009. His mother Carolyn (Hershiser) Johnson of Ainsworth is a 1977 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in O’Neill. Carolyn is a former Strope & Gotschall employee, having worked as a legal assistant there in the 1990s. His father Dr. Kirk Sholes of Inman, a 1978 graduate of O’Neill High School, owns and operates the O’Neill Veterinary Clinic, P.C.

Michael attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in broadcast journalism. He earned a bachelor of journalism with highest distinction from UNL in 2013. He then attended law school at the University of Nebraska College of Law in Lincoln. At Nebraska Law, Michael was an executive editor for the Nebraska Law Review from 2015-2016. He graduated fourth in his class of 119 students in May of 2016.

In Sept. of 2016, Michael began work as an associate attorney at Cline Williams Wright Johnson & Oldfather, L.L.P. in Omaha. His practice at Cline Williams involved a variety of litigation matters, including personal injury and professional liability defense, business and commercial disputes, real estate disputes, estate and probate litigation and creditor’s rights.

Michael, his wife Samantha Sholes, MD, and their son Jack reside in Atkinson, where Samantha has recently started her practice as a family medicine physician for West Holt Medical Services. He is excited to be back close to family and looks forward to meeting and serving clients throughout North Central Nebraska.
