2019-20 Stuart New Staff

STUART — Stuart Public School kicked off the 2019-20 school year on Thursday, Aug. 15. The Broncos welcome two new staff members and a student teacher.

Student Teacher

Mitchell Atkinson, a native of Butte and attending University of Nebraska-Kearney (UNK), will be student teaching the fourth grade class. He also will serve as the assistant football coach.


Charla Dean May of Trimble, MO, was hired as the janitor. She and her husband Glen live on a ranch where they raise puppies, kittens, cows and chickens.

English Teacher & Librarian

A native of Spencer, Stacy Ludwig has been hired as the English teacher for grades seventh-ninth and K-12 librarian. She also will serve as the junior class sponsor.

A graduate of UNK, she previously taught 21 years at Verdigre Public School and four years at West Holt Public Schools in Atkinson.

Her husband Ken Jensen is a custodian at West Holt. 



I grew up 10 miles southwest of Stuart on the Greger family ranch. I graduated from West Holt Public Schools in Atkinson in 1997 and Northeast Community College in Norfolk in journalism in 1999.
