LINCOLN — O’Neill Police Department has received a grant from Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office (NDOT-HSO) to purchase one in-car camera system and one mobile radar unit.

“This grant funding will elevate the level of highway safety for O’Neill,” said Mark Segerstrom, NDOT-HSO administrator.

Nebraska continues to qualify for additional highway safety alcohol incentive funds. The total grant funding assistance for this project is up to $3,191. The NDOT has utilized this funding primarily to help local law enforcement in obtaining in-car cameras and alcohol testing equipment used to assist in the apprehension and  conviction of impaired drivers.
