House Burn

The house to be burned is located south of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Owned by Jack Welsh, the house is being razed for the expansion of the parish's parking lot.

O'Neill Fire Department will be burning a house Saturday, Sept. 28 south of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The house, owned by Jack Welsh of O'Neill, is being razed for the expansion of the parish's parish parking lot.

Due to the unique size of the structure, the Nebraska State Fire Marshal's Office training division will use the opportunity to train fire personnel on fighting structure fires and ventilation practices. Fire departments from as far away as Wayne, Pierce and Broken Bow will be on hand to participate in the event.

The area between Clay and Benton streets and Third and Fourth streets will be closed most of the day Saturday. The training will begin in the morning and by early afternoon the structure will be raised and left to burn to the ground.
