A memorial walk will be hosted Saturday, July 13 in remembrance of O’Neill native Jennifer Sorrells who lost her life due to domestic violence on March 21, 2017 in Greeneville, TN, and Oriana Arcos and her unborn child who lost their lives on March 28 in Norfolk.

The event will be from 6-9:30 p.m. at the O’Neill High School track, 540 E. Hynes St.

The community is welcome to come and walk throughout the evening as their schedules allow. Participants are encouraged to bring their whole family.

The event will include adult and children's games with prizes. 

A quilt raffle as well as a 43-inch TV raffle also will be hosted. Tickets are $5 each.

Mike Walker from KBRX Radio will be the DJ for the evening.

Open prayer will begin at 6 p.m. Domestic violence speakers will be Karen Avery from Omaha at 6:30 p.m. and Scott Cleveland from Norfolk at 7:30 p.m.

A group picture will be taken at 8 p.m. Heather Martinez will be presented a wreath at 8:30 p.m. in remembrance of her daughter and grandchild.

A candlelight vigil will begin at 9 p.m. 

Refreshments and water are provided. All proceeds will be donated to Bright Horizon to assist victims of domestic violence.
