Fire Fighters

Firemen from Boyd and Holt County traveled to Western Nebraska to help with the wildfires near Gering and Crawford. The firemen are in a staging area near Crawford as of this morning.

Local firefighters from Holt and Boyd County were called to help battling two wildfires out in the Panhandle. One fast-moving wildfire, a few miles south of Crawford, prompted evacuations for residents in the Dawes County area and the other fire is west of Gering.

The Holt and Boyd County crews are now at a staging area near Crawford. Mutual Aide was called for through out the state. Some of the fire apparatus brought from area departments are part of the Nebraska Forest Service and in use by Nebraska Departments and therefore can be called on in time of emergency for use.
