O'Neill Irish Walk of Fame

The sixth annual Irish Walk of Fame induction ceremony will be hosted at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 in O'Neill, the Irish Capital of Nebraska.

Two individuals will be honored at this year's ceremony near Fourth and Douglas streets in O'Neill, one living and one deceased.

This year's honorees are Shorty Miles of the Holt County Independent and Dr. Jerry Brockman and his wife Therese. Each honoree receives a granite stone made with a special green shamrock including their name placed along the sidewalks lining Douglas Street.

Individuals inducted into the Irish Walk of Fame receive a green jacket and a plaque honoring their dedication to the Irish celebration.

The biographies of each honoree are then displayed at Chesterfield West on the Irish Walk of Fame display.

Following the ceremony, the public is invited to gather with the O'Neill Men's Club to paint the World's Largest Shamrock.

Chesterfield West will be hosting a freewill donation pork feed following the events to benefit the Irish Walk of Fame.
