John Hammerlun opens the meeting at 6:30 PM

Present: Dan Drueke, Tom Welsh, Kevin DeKay, Dan Pribil, John Hammerlun, Scott Keyes and Bill Babutzke Weed Superintendent.  

Minutes Approved: Kevin DeKay made a motion to approve the minutes and Dan Pribil seconded. All approved. 

Claims Approved: Tom Welsh made a motion to approve the claims and Dan Drueke seconded. All approved.

Old Business: N/A

New Business: Shredding had a slow start the alternator went out on the skid loader, this was warranty work so waiting for repairs was an issue. There is about 41 hours of shredding in Atkinson south and some north of Page, Bill will continue east of Atkinson, focus will be in District 6 and 7.   

Bill attended training in Kearney. Topics covered, deescalating landowners and the usual weed identification and chemicals, Jason Schindler was a guest speaker and gave a nice informational talk on aerial spraying.  Also MSHA information for the Weed Superintendents, as long as they are with the pit owner the superintendent is allowed in the pit.    

Information on the following list of twelve noxious weeds found in Nebraska can be located at the website with sufficient information on each noxious weed. 

Canada Thistle, Musk Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Purple Loosestrife, Spotted Knapweed, Diffuse Knapweed, Saltcedar, Phragmites, Giant Knotweed, Japanese Knotweed, Sericea Lespedeza, Leafy Spurge.

Next Meeting will be Thursday December 2, 2021 at 6:30 pm 

Dan Pribil made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Dan Drueke seconded. All approved. 

Meeting adjourned at 7:08pm.
