A 41-year-old Elgin man appeared in Holt County Court on July 10 for alleged burglary and theft charges.

Kipp V. Polston waived his preliminary hearing and was bound over to Holt County District Court for burglary, a Class 2A felony; theft by unlawful taking $1,500-$4,900, a Class 4 felony; and false reporting, a Class 1 misdemeanor.

A bond was filed for $10,000 on June 20. His arraignment has been set for July 29 in district court.

According to court documents, Holt County Sheriff’s Office Deputy David Ertz responded to a report of residential burglary in the 500 block of Nebraska Street in Ewing.

According to the victim, the burglary had occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. March 4 and numerous electronic devices, guns and accessories and cash were missing.

After further investigating the incident and locating some of the stolen items, Deputy Ertz and Antelope County Deputy Hallock contacted Polston on March 28 at his residence in Elgin.

A warrant was issued and Polston was arrested on June 14.
