CHAMBERS — The 2019 Community Service Award winner was announced during the annual Fourth of July celebration in Chambers at the tennis courts.

This year's award went to Heather Tomjack. Prior to receiving her award, Wayne Green read the following:

"This year's community service award recipient didn't grow up in the Chambers community, but since coming to Chambers she has rooted herself deeply in the community.

"Everything she does for the community is done whole-heartedly and with joy and passion. She is always friendly and greets everyone with a warm smile and kind words.

"Her current commitments to community include: the Development Club, Chambers Splash Pad Committee, Holt County Fair Board and she lends her talents to many other various activities and tasks as they arise. She is always game to jump in and give her all to every project she joins.

"As a member of the business community, she took a feed store building and transformed it into a beautiful salon and boutique in Chambers, showcasing her creative talents.

"Her enthusiasm is contagious and she encourages others in the community to be involved and excited about ideas for the future.

"Congratulations to this year's community service award recipient, Heather Tomjack"
