NCDHD COVID-19 Updates

North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) has been made aware of 183 cases in the district since the last reporting on 11/16: 35-Antelope; 10-Boyd; 22-Brown; 16-Cherry; 25-Holt; 1-Keya Paha; 29-Knox; 39-Pierce; 6-Rock.

            NCDHD regretfully received notification of four additional COVID-19 deaths: one Rock County male in his 70s, a Brown County male in his 70s, a Pierce County female in her 70s, and a Holt County female in her 60s. NCDHD sends its sincerest condolences to the families.

NCDHD is pleased to announce 106 new recoveries since the last reporting on 11/12: 15-Antelope; 5-Boyd; 6-Brown; 2-Cherry; 45-Holt; 3-Keya Paha; 15-Knox; 13-Pierce; 2-Rock.

NCDHD has expanded its COVID-19 testing capacities to include a 15-minute rapid test, in addition to the gold standard PCR test already offered. The rapid test is only offered to individuals who are currently exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID.

All testing is offered free of charge at the below locations:

  • O’Neill: Monday- Thursday from 8:30a-10:30a in the north parking lot of the O’Neill Armory. The armory is located at the corner of 4th and Hynes Ave. NCDHD will not be having testing on Thursday, November 26, 2020. 
  • Bassett: Tuesdays from 1p-3p at the Rock County Fair Grounds.
  • Pre-registration for testing at www.testnebraska.com is highly encouraged, but not required.
  • The last patient will be scheduled 15 minutes before the scheduled end of the clinic.

Cherry County Hospital is offering Test Nebraska COVID clinics Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:30pm-3:30pm. Testing is in the north parking lot of the Valentine United Methodist Church, located at 804 E. 5th St. Valentine, NE. Rapid tests are not offered at this TestNE site. Pre-registration is strongly recommended, though not required.

North Central District Health Department will be extending public influenza vaccine clinics in O’Neill through the month of November. Clinics will be held behind the NCDHD building as a drive-through style clinic. To access the clinic, enter through the east ally entrance and remain in your vehicle. To fast track the clinic process, complete the vaccination form online prior to arrival and have a copy of your insurance card with you. If unable to complete vaccination form prior to the clinic NCDHD will have hard copies available and will be making copies of insurance cards as needed. Listen to local media for any clinic cancellations or postponements. Clinics will be held on Tuesday, November 24th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM weather permitting.

Case count update as of 11/19/2020 at 4:00 PM: 2,430 Total Cases (TC), 977 Recoveries (R), 32 Deaths (D), and 663 total cases reported in the last 14 days. A reminder that Total Case (TC) numbers are represented first, and of those total cases the number of Recovered (R) persons is represented second, and total case related Deaths (D) is represented third.
