Stuart FFA chapter members claiming 2018 Nebraska State Fair honors are (l-r) Elle Schmaderer, Wade Paxton and Kira Dickau. 

GRAND ISLAND — Elle Schmaderer, daughter of Jon and Jennifer Schmaderer, and Wade Paxton, son of Dana and Amanda Paxton, recently were awarded the FFA grand champion honors for the top individual flower exhibit and top range board, respectively, at the 2018 Nebraska State Fair.  

Kira Dickau, daughter of Matt and Tanya Dickau, claimed the FFA reserve champion honors for her oxyacetylene welding display board.

FFA members exhibiting projects in the horticulture division (vegetables and flowers) were Schmaderer, bringing home 13 purple and three blue ribbons and Emma Krysl brought home five purple and two blue ribbons.  

Additional members exhibiting welding boards were Chance Engel who received a purple ribbon for his arc welding display and Coltin Schroder who received a purple ribbon for his mig welding display.

Sophomore FFA members created range boards and exhibited them in the Jr. Range Board division at the Nebraska State Fair.  

The following are the range board results: Wade Paxton, purple, and Austin Dvorak, Jett Kunz, Austin Nachtman and Ty Thurlow, blue.
