Ribbon Cutting

O'Neill Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting was held this past week for Shelter Insurance at their new location on East Hwy. 20 just east of Casey's.

The O'Neill Chamber of Commerce held its first ribbon cutting since March and the beginning of the pandemic.

Shelter Insurance has a new location in O'Neill and will be staffed by Devon Baum.

Baum is the daughter of Chris and Jeanine Baum who grew up between Elgin and Bartlett. She attended Pope John Central Catholic and then went on to get her bachelor’s degrees in animal science and agricultural leadership from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD.

"I come from the cattle industry with grassroots in ranching and livestock marketing, but I love people, especially rural families, so I switched gears and got my insurance license last spring and summer and am excited to have a business in the O’Neill community.

"I am a licensed affiliate, which just means I am a 'side kick' to my boss Matt Woodward, who has an office in Ord, so my office here in O’Neill is essentially an extension of his office.

"We are super excited to bring Shelter’s products offered in the areas of home and auto, farm and ranch, and life and health, as well as business and large and small commercial lines. I got moved to town at the end of last year and have been busy working on quotes and getting to know a lot of great people in the Holt and surrounding county area," said Baum.
